The Tippetts Family Pumpkin contest 2010!!!

These two were Kevin's entry's for the night. HE cheats by having two tries! The "grinning Idiot" is one he craved in like under an hour! BUT MY fav. is the skeleton Pumpkin head! Does the wooden skeleton body look familiar?
IT is the "frame" from his Easter egg head!! He used it in the Tippetts Family Easter Egg decorating contest 2010! HA-HA! talk about recycle!

Gavin's
Medusa" pumpkin, rightly so won 1st place! He was so excited to win!
Taya's was the darling "too cute to scare" Vampire pumpkin.

Gunner's Cry baby. Super funny & cute! The twin's were fascinated by this pumpkin & kept saying
"Ohhhh Sad baby!" They are so tender hearted!

Shilo's super scary pumpkin is snack center between Mr. Potato head & Kevin's "grinning idiot" Pumpkin.

Notice the darling little pumpkin by Mr. Potato head? That is my Bella Boo's! She created that masterpiece in preschool & they "Lent" it out to us for one showing only! we were so lucky to have her participate in this mere mortal contest, as she is a PROFESSIONAL crafter!
ALSO a little further down in the front again, the small long oval, pumpkin is is Arbor's. HE insists you all know it is NOT just a painted pumpkin! IT is a simple, yet understated, "Picassoish" rendition titled "My nana's dog Zoe eat my shoe". The color pallet was left natural with only the subtle hint of color that reflects Arbors outrage at the "MAN"! Yes he is a genus!

This is Scooter's darling pumpkin! She took 3 of Kevin's home grown pumpkins & made a "scary snowman. Notice how the nose on the pumpkin is the stem! OH MY goodness she gets that from her mother!! VERY Clever! I think it is super cute AND it won 2nd prize!

STARLEE'S, She put a new meaning behind seeing "stars in her eyes"! HA-HA!

This is mine!! OK see those big luscious lips???

Did you know they don't make wax lips anymore!? IF they do I could not find any in the STATE OF UTAH! But I found WAX mustaches!! YES!!! I was pressed for time so I just took my wax mustache AND spray painted it red. Melted the inside & pressed them together & VOILA! Big, RED voluptuous LIPS! Maybe this would be a bit of a stretch for MR,. Potato head, but I am sure MRS. Potato head would have loved the
"lipo gone bad" lips!

What the heck I been up to!? a couple of charms & ornaments & other stuff!

These cute little things are for my "Fun & Funky" winter art charms! I just had Kevy cut the tips of the plastic water tubes from my work & drill a hole on top to thread a wire through for a clasp. I then made a clay bottom to glue to the snowman buttons in the base. I then added a bit of "Glitter snow" before I sealed the bottom to the tube with that awesome glue! I did not add water....to risky of leaking, besides these are just charms!!

This is my Christmas ornament for the Christmas movie swap. I 'm still thinking I might add a Blingy thingy somewhere....It is between 2 Glass panels. It cute, just not my favorite. I had a hard time deciding what to focus on & since my Gunny bear likes Nutcrackers I went with that. I know it doesn't scream NUTCRACKER MOVIE, but hey, it's what I came up with.
I will also post the FUN Halloween craving contest tomorrow! But I am late in making dinner right now, so see ya all soon!

My 2 little grandaughters & Cece's 2 little grandaughter are starting their own little "sisterhood of the traveling Paint's" club! Oh we're sooo proud!

My goodness, we used the last bag of candy corn that they had in Walmart to do this wreath! I had like $10.00 dollars worth of candy corns to do 2 wreaths....BUT It was so worth it! Look how cute the wreath looks by my front door!

Amy looks like she smelled somethin bad! I'm not saying what....but I wasent standing closest to her.......

IT was HER MOM!!! Ha-ha!

The little cute candycorn ball fit in this tiny witched candy cauldren just right! SOOO cute! I was going to put it on a candle stick, BUT I like this so much better!
Cec Made this darling lace coverd pumpkin...it took her like 2 minutes...BUT it is so way cuter in person!

LOOK at that cute little chef! Gunny made these cupcake...BY SCRATCH!!! for us girls! OH Shilo you trained him soooo well! P.S.the cupcakes WERE AWESOME!!

Here is the finished wreath by my front door! I LOVE this wreath!

WHY am I just not cool enough to pull this off!?

WANTED this>

Settled for this!
AAAA It's OK...BUT That top one is soooooo cool!
What else does it need?
Suggestions? Am I trying too hard????
Oh well Halloween is ALMOST over so I will chill!

Don't you wanna know what I thought? MOVIE review...Easy A.

MY daughter Teisha is here visiting for a week or two. AND her & Shilo & Star & I were talking, and we were SHOCKED to find out the LAST movie Teisha saw in the theatre was "Harry Potter" !

REALLY...NO way!

WHAT a deprived WOMEN!

After we recovered from our shock & pity...we decided we had to take her out!
Soooooo we went online & found the most HARD CORE/ GIRLY GIRL, CHICK FLICK PLAYING out there in movie land!
"Easy A"

NOW you all know my age.....somewhere between 24 & 50....
AND I am a hair past high school...
But somewhere in the back of my head I wanted to see this movie!
SO after 5 minutes of discussion(looking up the movie list on fandango) we went to
the Mall theatre & bought tickets.
I was kind of prepared to see a "dirty, trampy teenage" movie.
I mean if you see the trailer you will think the same thing!
HOWEVER I was soooooo happy to see it was not what I thought.
It star's a cutie pie named Emma Stone. Some of you MIGHT recognize her from the movie "House Bunny"
Olive Penderghast(Emma) is a little unhappy being the "invisible" girl in her high school.
But she makes the best of it with her best friend, UNTIL she pretends to lose her virginity to a gay friend.
THEN all the sudden she has to deal with her new found "fame"....& learns some tough lessons
.......while being a rebellious teen, Olive wears a "scarlet A" on her
new "skanky girl" somewhat risque wardrobe in honor of the English class that is reading "the Scarlet letter". She is very cheeky when asked why she is wearing the letter & tells her teacher "it's for AWESOME"
She is a very bright & clever girl who gets caught up in wanting to help the "geeks & freaks" in her school & admits she has always been a sucker for the underdog, it's unfortunate that she gets pulled into a vortex of lies & has hard time fixing it.
I have to tell you as adorable as Emma stone is in this movie AND she does a great job, don't get me wrong......
BUT..... I want her "parents" to be mine & MY KIDS parents!!!
Stanley Tucci & Patricia Clarkson played Olive's parents.
They were so funny & cute! AND seemed to say all the right things!
I really laughed a lot during this movie & was really wanting "Olive"(Emma Stone) to succeed.
I was bummed to see the movie end & wanted to see more of it.
Even this ol' Grandma thought it was a really cute show & felt kinda bad I had prejudged it to be a naughty, potty, type of a show that I wouldn't want my kids to see for fear it would
glamorize the pure nature of sex & relationships.
BUT....... I can admit when I was wrong & I was.
CUTE show! GO SEE IT!
I give this move 9 "REEL GOOD"

I've Been Here! WHERE you been!? & to show how bad I feel for neglecting you I'll add a "wanna Be a Cinnabon" recipe!

OK sooooo I might have been really remiss on my "bloggin" duties!

Sorry! I hope your not mad at me!

I really don't have an excuse EXCEPT...

Remember my cute new camera I get for my B-day!?
WELLL I can not figure out how come?...why come?...
what ever, any way it will not let me down load my new pictures
onto my home computer!

SHILO was supposed to come over & help figure it out & she won't!

So as soon as I figure it out I will show you what I have been up too!

So I am super excited for FALL!

I love it it!
I am going to put up my work display soon, hopefully on Sept 12th or soon after.

MY girl, Nichole has already promised to help!

I have my Halloween costume KINDA "planned" out!?
It's not engraved in stone yet, so if you can think of anything let me know.

Any Ideas for me?
What do you think I should go as?
I LOVE this set up from a "reputable company" in other words I can't remember where I found it! If I remember I will totally give them credit! I love it & want to do my Halloween center piece like this!

MEanWHILE:
I discovered this recipe I am so
IN LOVE with!
I have gotten the best kisses from my hubby for making him these cinnamon rolls!

I think you should all try it!

It's super easy AND best of all it is sooooo GOOD!

If you LOVE Cinnamon rolls or the good ol' "Cinnabon" Cinnamon rolls, then these are for you!
I have done them OVER & over AND have not had a bad bunch yet!

I mixed them in my Kitchen-aid & I'm out of the kitchen in 30 minutes to let them rise!

Wanna be a "Cinnabon" cinnamon roll recipe:

1/2 cup warm water

2 Pkgs Dry yeast packets

2 Tlbs water

Place the yeast in a bowl with the sugar & water, allow time to activate.

1 (3.5 oz) box INSTANT Vanilla Pudding

1/2 cup melted butter

2 eggs

1 tsp salt

8 1/2 cups flour

Filling:

1/2 cup melted butter(another one)

2 cups brown sugar

2 heaping Tlb. Cinnamon

In a kitchen -aid make the pudding as directed on the package.Mix until slightly thickened.

Add the eggs, butter, salt & 1/2 the flour. Mix until blended. Add the yeast water/sugar mixture. Slowly add the rest of the flour & continue to mix with your bread paddle until the dough is sticky & smooth.

Place in a draft free place until double in size, about 1 hour.

Punch down & grease your cookie sheet lightly & mix the Brown sugar & the cinnamon together.

Roll out the dough into a 34"x 21" rectangle & spread with the rest of the melted butter.

Sprinkle on the cinnamon sugar on top of that & roll LONG ways.

With a piece of thread or fishing wire, place under the roll & Coriss cross the string & pull together to cut a roll about every 2" apart.

Place the rolls on a lightly greased cookie sheet until ALMOST touching each other.

Let rise again until double.

IF you want a slight yummy topping mix up some more brown sugar & cinnamon & sprinkle on top now.

Bake in a 350 oven for about 15-20 minutes or until lightly brown.

Remove from oven let cool & frost with your favorite cream cheese frosting or I like just plain butter cream frosting.

OK NOW the ROSIEISEMUS:

These will be SUPER stickY! BUT if you place them on a HEAVILY floured counter & "knead" the sticky away a bit, IT is aLOT easier to handle!

Don't let BREAD recipes intimidate you!

YOUR the boss! JUST beat(knead)it into submission! (you can't really OVER knead as much as you can over FLOUR! that is what makes bread tough!)

You tell that dough what is UP!

good luck & wish me luck!

UPDATE:
Just found out my son-in-law the computer GENIUS is come to visit & he can fix or at least TELL my computer what is UP!!!
YEAH!!

MY In the garden Charms AND the 4th of July charms from 2peas swap! + one Mississippi Recipe card for the other swap!

I LOVE them all!!! I am putting my Garden charms on a mini tree by my front door.
BUT I am totally WEARING the 4th of July ones!!! Starting Monday.

Yummmmmy Mini pecan pie tarts! Because Pecan's are a HUGH Mississippi thing! AND MY Kevy LOVES these things! I got the recipe from my friend Gayfawn from the Little theatre gang!
Thanks Gayfawn!

I was "Bear"ly able to part with these Kevin carvings! But it went to a good cause!

These to "crafts were for the Griffin reunion.
We had the 1st annual Griffin Family auction! MY sweetie pie Hubby craved a bear & these to really awesome "lid Pal's" for my homemade Pepsi BBQ sauce AND the Drunken Pig glaze!
I made them a week before the reunion AND Kevin carved the 2 heads the DAY before the reunion! I love them!
The Bear went for a decent price of $90.00. WHICH we were OK with considering it was THE 1st AUCTION ever!
The sauces went for $8.00 a pair.

This is what the bear looked like BEFORE!

the bear was short(4 ft) BUT packed a good punch! He was AWESOME!

This is AFTER! Kevy, you rule!
