The Tippetts Family Pumpkin contest 2010!!!

These two were Kevin's entry's for the night. HE cheats by having two tries! The "grinning Idiot" is one he craved in like under an hour! BUT MY fav. is the skeleton Pumpkin head! Does the wooden skeleton body look familiar?
IT is the "frame" from his Easter egg head!! He used it in the Tippetts Family Easter Egg decorating contest 2010! HA-HA! talk about recycle!

Medusa" pumpkin, rightly so won 1st place! He was so excited to win!

Taya's was the darling "too cute to scare" Vampire pumpkin.

Gunner's Cry baby. Super funny & cute! The twin's were fascinated by this pumpkin & kept saying

"Ohhhh Sad baby!" They are so tender hearted!

Shilo's super scary pumpkin is snack center between Mr. Potato head & Kevin's "grinning idiot" Pumpkin.


Notice the darling little pumpkin by Mr. Potato head? That is my Bella Boo's! She created that masterpiece in preschool & they "Lent" it out to us for one showing only! we were so lucky to have her participate in this mere mortal contest, as she is a PROFESSIONAL crafter!

ALSO a little further down in the front again, the small long oval, pumpkin is is Arbor's. HE insists you all know it is NOT just a painted pumpkin! IT is a simple, yet understated, "Picassoish" rendition titled "My nana's dog Zoe eat my shoe". The color pallet was left natural with only the subtle hint of color that reflects Arbors outrage at the "MAN"! Yes he is a genus!

This is Scooter's darling pumpkin! She took 3 of Kevin's home grown pumpkins & made a "scary snowman. Notice how the nose on the pumpkin is the stem! OH MY goodness she gets that from her mother!! VERY Clever! I think it is super cute AND it won 2nd prize!

STARLEE'S, She put a new meaning behind seeing "stars in her eyes"! HA-HA!

Did you know they don't make wax lips anymore!? IF they do I could not find any in the STATE OF UTAH! But I found WAX mustaches!! YES!!! I was pressed for time so I just took my wax mustache AND spray painted it red. Melted the inside & pressed them together & VOILA! Big, RED voluptuous LIPS! Maybe this would be a bit of a stretch for MR,. Potato head, but I am sure MRS. Potato head would have loved the

"lipo gone bad" lips!

I was "Bear"ly able to part with these Kevin carvings! But it went to a good cause!

These to "crafts were for the Griffin reunion.
We had the 1st annual Griffin Family auction! MY sweetie pie Hubby craved a bear & these to really awesome "lid Pal's" for my homemade Pepsi BBQ sauce AND the Drunken Pig glaze!
I made them a week before the reunion AND Kevin carved the 2 heads the DAY before the reunion! I love them!
The Bear went for a decent price of $90.00. WHICH we were OK with considering it was THE 1st AUCTION ever!
The sauces went for $8.00 a pair.

EKKK! I'm BAAACK!! I got SO many things to tell you!! Charm swap & recipe card swaps FIRST!!

I AM so excited to be back in business!! I have had NO camera & I felt I could not take advantage of this blog without no pictures! SOOOOO I did not post anything! I Missed it!
MY Kevy got me a new camera for Moms day & I could not figure out how to download my pictures to this post.....UGH!!!

Did you miss me? I have so many thing to show you all!! I will start with my crafts I have done:

I have been busy doing all the recipe cards for the swaps on 2peas I had signed up for....I had a vision for these cards...I really wanted in on all the fun those ladies had in designing the cards. BUT I REALLLLLLY wanted the recipes! SO I signed up for some .....I signed up for more & then a few more....until I realized I am going to get almost 150 more recipes back, by the time I get done!!!
YEE-HA!!!

The 2nd one is the "State Recipe card swap Shilo" is hosting.....I got Kansas & did a RIB rub....after reading about Kansas...I found out they are kinda known for their Pork ribs & fancy BBQ sauce...so I made up some of their KC rib rub & my own PEPSI BBQ sauce & I had some KICK A ribs!! This next ones are for the CUPCAKE recipe swap.

OH MY goodness SOOOO CUTE! Everyone!...I mean every "pea' came through for a super cute & well made charm!

I REALLY want to wear them on a bracelet...BUT sadly I lose too many!

I think it has something to do with the fact I "talk " with my hands!!!

SOOO... I just used a idea that one of our 2peas friend had & used them as purse charms!

I could not decide which one I love the most....so I put them ALL ON my purse!!

My work DID have Fox 13 & Big Budda there on Friday the 3rd of July, BUT......

Ok after telling me my really cool part on how to make a FRESH FLOWER arrangment in a hollow watermelon shell has been scratched! .... FOR a lame A part on how to WRAP A tortilla around some cold meat strips!! COME-ON!!! I'm much cuter then the Don Julo reps! RUDE!!!

ALTHOUGH that WAS me holding the end of the Balloon cover behind the bugle player & the Vets, doing the 21 gun salute! OHH I'm sorry, did you blink during that part?

For the segiment on Watermelons during the show, Josh (our store director) thought it would look great if Kevy would carve some watermelons for it.

SOOO good ol' Kevy carved 4.. well 3 really GREAT ones & one lame one (OK rude!)

He run out of time & he only had like 6 hours to do all 4.....so back off!

He did a really cool Lady liberty one.. awesome & a cute turtle one, The shell lifted of & the fruit was served when the turtle was up a bit. CUTE! And the Fav?...... was a great.... so cool ....Roses & leaves & a gecko carved in 3D! The roses was so cool!!! (Big Budda, LOVED that one!)

Sorry these are a bit hard to see. My friend Danni (AKA Pretty produce manager) took them with her Cell phone...and we all know how great those are! ( dang cell phone camra's!)

The not so great one, was really pretty good, just not up to Kevy's standards! He ran out of time, after spending sooooo much time on all the other 3 really awesome ones. But he just quickly carved "Happy Independance Day from Maceys!" on top of a really long watermelon! Like I said after seeing the other ones, this seemed a little ....... less flashy!

The news crew, did flash on them a bit, BUT guess which one they showed the MOST???

you guessed it!..... They lame one... or the less impressive one!!

I did GET to meet Big budda & have my picture taken with him!! He was really nice! So my day wasent a complete loss!
