I LOVE THESE Bedspreads....BUT willl they go with the look I so DESPERATELY want in my bedroom

OK I LOVE old Hollywood glamour!

I have ALWAYS wanted a bedroom in that style!!!

Have any of you seen Lucy & Desi in their 1956 movie titled "Forever Darling"?

It was only 2 movies those 2 every stared in together.

The other one was one of my ALL TIME Faves

"The long, LONG Trailer"

ANYWAY, I saw the movie "Forever Darling" a few years back & LOVED IT. Good story line...BUT the part I remember is the part where she meets her "angel" in her Bedroom or "boudoir" & where her & Desi are fighting. They show a lot of that bedroom in the movie.

HOLY COW I LOVED everything in that room & always in the back of my head was going to do EVERY thing in my power to get a bedroom like that!

If you get a chance go on line & check out the Bedroom & see what I am talking about!!

Type in Lucy & Desi's movie "Forever darling" & you should get a site that will give you a trailer of it. CUTE MOVIE!

ANYWAY...I love the mirrors in these rooms & LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the mirror chest of drawers & mirror end tables. BUT check out that BED 3 pics down! I want to take my last breath in this BED! LOVE IT!

I what to put all my delicate undies in these drawers!

YHEW!!! SOOOO pretty! I just want people to THINK I own this bed....I could never live up to this much GLAM!! Also I love the chandlers.
These bedspreads are the ones from overstock dot.com. I know Kevy will not be crazy about the silk.....

But I am leaning towards this brown & turquoise

one & the bottom 2 .

I do like the simplicity of the all white one, thought it could be glamed up with fur pillows & colorful head rolls & such.....

I thought the turfed brown head board

set was kinda Orientalish, which I just don't like, buy the colors were lovely....

LOVED the country blue & fluff what DELICIOUSNESS!...BUT don't think it says Hollywood glam as much as the others.

What do you all think?

A Mission for all you MeGa decorators......PIMP my Room....Please!!

Did You Think....or HOPE I fell off the face of the EARTH????
NO such luck! I just have been sooo focused on My Charms & Recipe cards for some swaps I am doing....I just can't seem to get my head around all the things I need to do. You know how it is???? PLUS my Camrea has passed on to the great beyond! I miss it!
I am going to turn 50 this year & I don't know......I seem so frazzled & spacy lately AND MOODY....I know I am doing the "Change of Life thing...BUT IS this part of it??? I can't even stand myself!! MY poor Hubby....He is my FAVORITE person in the world & I HATE being mean to him!...& MY poor kids... Ditto for them...I HEART them!
If any one has some suggentions PLEASE, PLEASE LET me know!

ANYWHOOOOO...
MY next BIG project is this ROOM> I have had it the same way for 17 years AND I NEED A CHANGE!!!

HELP!

Wonder though & let me know what you think.
My room is the perfect size...NOT TO big & NOT too Small.
It is cozy in the winter & cuddly in the summer....I JUST HATE IT!

The bed is over the garage & the sitting area is over the Family room. WE purposely DID NOT put a TV in the bed area....We BOTH felt that the bed should be JUST for us & OUR OWN space. We did not want to invite the world or at least Jay Leno into our bed.
BUTTTTT I LOVES my TV!
SOOO I had to have one in my room.
There are a FEW THINGS that have to stay....OK a LOT of things that have to stay....
Because of Budget reasons & because I LOVE them!

ONE the BED...I love THE bed & am not apposed to painting it...THE ugly A carpet...NOT in the budget! THE Dressing table...THE 2 lamps on my dressing table... MY granny bags hanging on the shelf...THE TV!!! THE mirror, THE blue blinds( Kevys request) I am kinda fond of the slim blue lamps by my bed & couch but will need matching shades.....THE Ceiling Fan( Kevys other request). MY Family Pictures....MY couch...NOT!!! that's the first thing to go!!
All others can take a HIKE!!

I love the shabby chic look..... You know, fur rugs, PILLOWS, chenille spreads, Quilts, Creams, blue, turquoise, butter yellow, black, a pinch of red, easy on the LACE & Flowers, overstuffed chair & Ottoman....ect

SO there's your assignment... & MINE this summer...to PIMP my room! on a BUDGET!
I really would LOVE some help & WILL BE looking out for some shabby chic finds at yard sales & such, this summer. I will post LOTS of pictures & get your feed back & what you all think of a certain Idea! I NEED HELP PEOPLE!!! SO please don't stay quite on me!

1st THING....
Decide colors...it's got to go with my BLUE color....I was thinking Brown & BLUE & turquoise? WHAT Do you think?
2nd THING: MY couch....What do you all think of a DAYBED????

PAINT or WALLPAPER?

My latest Valentines charms & a couple of other crafts!

BUT first........ look at these two handsome fellows!!
That is my oh so cute grandson Gavin & his Papa working on the cars for the pinewood derby set to race this Friday. The boys & papa have a plan......Papa gets to relive his dreams of winning a pinewood derby AND the boys get to take the credit for the awesome cars PAPA made!!SIDE

NOTE: I just noticed "KOOJOO" laying on the rug in this first picture!! That really ia my "grandpuppy" Zoe...She really is a lovey dovey dog & has no "koojo" in her...you know..."koojo"?...the killer CRAZY dog from the Stephen King novel....NO? Nothing? FUNNY Story Zoe Zoe is 1/2 in love with Papa(Kevy) & my son in law Cory!....

Anyway that's my boys craftin!

I signed up for 3 Valentines charms spots in the swaps @ 2peas. One was the
"Hard" valentines, meaning any textile EXCEPT fabric or paper, the other 1 was 2 spots on the Fiber charms. These first pictures are of my "mini...tiny.....teeny picture frame. It was made out of red "pleather" & a tiny heart button. I stitched around the inside with white thread. And put a back piece on & stitched it closed with clear thread. I left an opening at the top, so you can slide in a TEENY TINY

picture of your Valentine in! CUTE HUH! The other is a felt envelope I showed you before. SAME swap!

This next picture is of my Cupcakes for the "Hard" valentines swap. I just molded a cupcake out of some polymer clay & baked as directed & added a tag (made out of good old fashioned shrinky dink stuff!)...that is super hard to read.....BUT it says:
Hey CUPCAKE!....BE MINE?

These next pictures are what the "Sisterhood of the traveling paints" made for our Feb. craft.

The cute Hugs & kisses blocks. Kevy cut them out & Lyndsy cut out the vinyl. I think they turned out soooo cute!
Check out what shilo at "Toadly crafty" made......here@.
She did the cutest set of picture frames that I just gotta copy!

This last craft is just a little something I threw together! I was forced to "scrape book" my own plain...ugly ......clipboard!! I had been after shilo @ Toadly crafty to do it for me...but she was just toooooooooo busy! So I did it myself.......not bad if I do say so myself!

One side has chalk board paint & the other side has a magnetic board.
THIS cute little craft has been VERY handy at work AND I look just adorable using it when I need a clipboard for my meetings!!!
SO Toady......I don't need your mad scrape book skills.....I got a few of my own!!!

BEST "craig's list" find EVER!!! You gotta check it out!!

OK it wasn't actually "Craig's list" that I found it...it was a local news site, that has online classified section. BUT it was kinda "Craig's listish"
As some of you may have known, my couch in my family room, was in such sad shape!!
It had only ONE spot on the blasted couch that was even remotely comfortable!
And even that was debatable! SOOO periodically I would check KSL.com AND craigs list AND even went to garage sales all summer long on the look out for a NICE used couch & love seat set. Trust me when I say it was HOPELESS! First of all my budget was at the MOST $200.00! I know.....I know....why would I think that I could find even a decent couch for that price...what was I thinking?!!

One morning while on my comp. I felt really strongly to check the classified on KSL.... (I have to say, I know where this feeling was coming from!) brushing it off as wishful thinking...I ignored it!
Until again I got the thought to check it!
So I shrugged my shoulders I clicked on the classifieds & said out load..."all right where to now?" To the couches....I heard & on the 2nd page this listing came up:
"Couch & overstuffed chair, FREE to the first person to come & pick them up!"
NOW I have learned from experience to NOT get my hopes up high!
Because in most cases IF you get a couch for free....you also get the rats nests & dog hair & broken springs for FREE w/ that couch!!
BUT I clicked on the picture anyway! AND these couch & chair pictures pop up!
WHAT THE HECK!!! there must be a catch RIGHT!? I mean, I have seen ads with A PICTURE of a couch out of a catalog with the note that the couch for sale LOOKS like this couch!.....MAYBE when you bought it 10 years ago! I also noticed that the ad was posted 2 days before I saw it. BUT out of curiosity, I called the number & asked if the couch & chair was still available....
AND HE SAID YES!!!
Kevy & I went & saw them that very day, just because I still had the thought in the back of my head...it's too good to be true!
Well they were in almost perfect shape! The guy said, he doesn't really sit on them....AND he had new, more masculine, not so country furniture coming in a week AND if we wanted to come back then.....we could have them!! AND so we did! AND he was sooo nice he even throw in the awesome rug!!
WHOOO...Heavenly Father is SOOOO good too me!!
I got to keep my $200 & got this set FOR FREE!!!
YOU can't a better bargain then that!
SO don't give up peeps, there is always hope!
These pictures are in my family room. The set just "COZIES" up the space so much & they are so comfy to sit in! It had like a million plaid pillows to match, I just put most of them somewhere else & I add more pops of red (you know I LOVE red!) with pillows & the red coffee table & I am one "happy finder of bargains". What do you think? AWESOME HUH?!

To Rosie ....from RoSiE

I stumbled across
a really cute blog called Retro Rosie, And I felt a little ting of retro envy!
As most of you know I am a "Wanna be Retro" gal! But have not had the
"Paper Salad" to do it...like I mean it!
SO I have just garage saled/thrift stored/had it donated/Pity gifted it for years!

And for some reason....I am content to just pretty much keep it in the kitchen!
I dig the bright reds, oranges, yellows, and turquoise blues of these yester-years.
AND for me, I need all the push I can get, to high tail it into my Kitchen to cook! This is my solution.... if my Kitchen is bright AND cheerful, I will CHEERFULLY go in it!

SO this quick tour is for my new friend Retro Rosie....But the rest of you can come along!
Rosie, notice anything familiar in my Gazebo? I noticed your so super cute yellow metal chandler...
And I thought HEY...ME too!
I found mine at a thrift store for $5:00. AND was soooo excited by it, I could not wait to show Kevy(my honey) He looked at it and said(this is where you talk in a deep voice in your head as you read Kevys part!)..."I have the perfect place for it"...BEFORE I could say "over the Kitchen table"? He said in the GAZEBO! My crest fallen face spoke before I did & then Kevy said..(deep voice)...I really think it would look weird over the table" I being the biggest wuss, did not even speak up for my super cute chandelier!! I am sooooo mad about that..... STILL!
BUT Kevy did have a good point...the colors were a little off AND I HAD insisted it stayed the same....I have seen many off these spray painted all white or same color, while still cute, I was just in love with the bold colors and did NOT want to change a thing! SO in a way...Kevy was right.....It does sooo do much for our gazebo. OUR HAPPY little gazebo!

The rest are just some random picture of my kitchen. My camera is not the best (just Star's cell phone) AND I did try to take pictures AROUND my clutter!

This cute cabinet (Kevy made for me!) is STUFFED FULL of SOME of my Anchor Hocking collection! I firmly believe that if you truly LOVE it, USE IT! I use these dishes all the time! (sorry its kinda dark, it is in a mini pass throw from the kitchen into the family room.)I LOVE Picnic baskets and will use any excuse to buy one.....my most famous one is:
"BUT I NEED it!...its a "Different color of RED"!
ps: These are NOT all of my baskets! ppss: They make great display tables & Kitchen christmas tree stand/holders AND even work GREAT to take ON a PICNIC!
Can I just tell you of my DEEP, PURE, Abiding LOVE, for this vintage Metal Pepsi 3 in one Cupcake/Cake/Cookie carrier? I mean if it were legal....I would INSIST Kevy & I marry it!!!

Found it on e-bay one day....had it in my hot little hands 7 days later!!!
It was BY far the most I have paid for a piece of metal....$89.00, but worth every penny!(Tippetts Kids don't get any ideas...this thing is getting buried W/me!)
AGAIN I USE it!!

I know it is Ironic...I live, eat, AND breath Pepsi....
YET, I have Coke chairs....HUH? WHY?
Some have asked..."Rosie, aren't you afraid the Pepsi police will find out....aren't you kinda cheating on your beloved Pepsi somehow?".....Well to them I say......
THEY WERE FREE!!!! & the RIGHT COLOR!( My friend Jackson knew I LOVED the concept and look of these retro chairs & GAVE them to me...kiss-kiss - Thanks, Jackson!)
.....besides, I SIT on the coke, but DRINK the Pepsi!!!

SO My sister"from another mOtHer":)
Retro Rosie....... Here's lookin in the mirror at ya!
I hope you come back often, cause I know I be keepin' track of you!
(that sounded kinda "stockish" Sorry)
